West Hollywood/ Beverly Hills From My POV

West Hollywood and Beverly Hills have always felt like two different cities with the same zip code energy—and that’s exactly what makes them interesting to work in. WeHo moves fast. It’s one of the most walkable parts of LA, and the restaurant-to-block ratio might be the best in the city. Beverly Hills is the other side of the coin: quieter streets, bigger lots, and a kind of polish you feel the moment you cross the city line. I’ve sold in both markets for years, and they each attract a very different buyer—but both deliver on what people come to LA dreaming about.

What I Love About West Hollywood / Beverly Hills

WeHo has an energy that’s hard to replicate—there’s always something happening, whether it’s a new restaurant opening on Melrose or a Sunday morning buzz on Santa Monica Blvd. Beverly Hills surprises people. Yes, it has Rodeo Drive, but it also has beautiful, tree-lined residential streets where families actually put down roots. The fact that they sit side by side gives buyers in this area real options. You can live on the quiet side and still walk to some of the best dining and nightlife in LA.

Life in West Hollywood / Beverly Hills

From a lifestyle standpoint, both areas offer an incredible quality of life—just in different ways. WeHo is built for walking: coffee shops, boutiques, restaurants, and bars all within a few blocks. Beverly Hills leans more residential, with top-rated schools, manicured parks, and a neighborhood feel that surprises a lot of my clients who expect it to feel more like a showroom. Traffic on the 405 and 101 is a reality anywhere in LA, but both cities give you good central access to the rest of the Westside. My clients who land here tend to stay.

My Top Picks

After 20 years of living and selling homes in LA, I’ve built a pretty solid rotation of go-to spots in West LA. These are the places I actually send clients to—and where you’ll probably run into me when I’m not showing houses.

Verve Coffee Roasters

My go-to in WeHo for a really solid cup. Single-origin, consistently great, and the space feels welcoming without being precious about it. I’ve had a lot of client conversations over an Americano here.

Alfred Coffee

One of the original trendy WeHo coffee shops—and it still delivers. The drinks are genuinely good beyond the Instagram moment. I send clients here before morning showings on Santa Monica Blvd.

Urth Caffé Beverly Hills

The patio on South Beverly Drive is one of the best people-watching spots in the city. Organic coffee, good food, and it’s been here long enough to feel like an institution. Busy on weekends but worth it.

The Fountain Coffee Room

Inside the Beverly Hills Hotel. One of those places that hasn’t changed in fifty years and that’s exactly the point. Counter seating, classic diner food, and the kind of old Hollywood energy you can’t fake.

Craig’s

The WeHo dinner spot. Always buzzing, always a scene, and the food is genuinely good. I’ve celebrated more than a few closings here. Reservations recommended unless you know someone at the door.

The Abbey

An iconic WeHo institution that’s been at the center of the neighborhood for decades. Great cocktails, beautiful patio, and a crowd that reflects exactly what makes West Hollywood what it is.
