West LA From My POV
I’ve been a realtor in LA for about 20 years, and over that time I’ve gotten to know West LA really well—both professionally and personally. It’s one of those areas I keep coming back to, not because it’s flashy or trendy, but because it’s genuinely livable. West LA has a rhythm that feels very “real LA.” It’s where people actually settle in, build routines, and stick around longer than they expect.

Life in West LA
From a lifestyle standpoint, West LA checks a lot of boxes. On a good day, you’re 10–15 minutes from the beach, close to UCLA, and right in the middle of the Westside without feeling overwhelmed by it. The restaurant scene is solid and local—great sushi, casual cafés, places you actually go back to. It’s also incredibly convenient, even if the 405 likes to remind you who’s in charge. Most of my clients move here for the location, but they stay because West LA just fits into everyday life in a really comfortable way.

After 20 years of living and selling homes in LA, I’ve built a pretty solid rotation of go-to spots in West LA. These are the places I actually send clients to—and where you’ll probably run into me when I’m not showing houses.
The Upper West
Known for their X, but I also recommend them for B. Locals talk about it like it’s a secret, and it’s one of those places that never lets you down, whether it’s a casual weeknight or a last-minute dinner plan.
Bar Next Door
Known for their X, but I love it because it’s unpretentious. You can show up in work clothes, grab a solid cocktail or glass of wine, and not feel like you’re trying too hard. Perfect for a casual catch-up.
Black Sheep Burgers
Everyone comes here for X, but honestly, their B is the sleeper hit. I’ve closed more than a few deals over lunch here—it’s relaxed, reliable, and very West LA.
Kind Grounds
I’m there for the B and the fact that they don’t rush you out. It’s my go-to meeting spot with clients who want to talk numbers without sitting in a stuffy office.
West Hollywood Park
This is my reset spot. It’s where I’ll take a break between appointments or suggest clients walk around to get a feel for the neighborhood. Dog walkers, kids playing, people actually talking to each other.
Soul Spa
After dealing with traffic, negotiations, and inspections, this place is a lifesaver. I swear by their B. It’s low-key, calming, and exactly what you need when LA starts feeling a little too LA.
